As a Church of England High School, our heart is for the young people who attend our school and the adults who work here to grow and flourish. In order to achieve this, we have a Christian Vision that is theologically rooted and embedded throughout Teaching & Learning. As a school, we pride ourselves on high-quality teacher training, getting to know our trainees on an individual basis whilst supporting them to flourish. We prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of everyone in an inclusive way. Students and adults will be given many opportunities to actively demonstrate care and compassion for their community through acts of service, showing love, care, and kindness and being positive agents of change in society.
We work collaboratively with local partner schools and Birmingham Newman University. Trainees have placements in two of our local partnership schools where they spend the majority of their training year. Trainees will develop their understanding and expertise through a mixture of classroom experience and research. All trainees will access high levels of bespoke support and CPDL, receiving input from both University experts and experienced teachers.
