St Giles Church has a close connection to St Michael’s. It is the Parish Church for St Michael’s and the surrounding area so is available for the pastoral care of pupils, parents, and staff. Pupils regularly visit St Giles for special occasions throughout the church year and are encouraged to see the church as a space where they can connect with God, work out what the school values mean to them and make sense of their own spirituality.
The Vicar of St Giles, the Revd. John Bridge, is also chaplain to St Michael’s, playing an integral role in the spiritual life of St Michael’s. John is on the governing board and plays an active role in the life of the school, and is involved in building links with the local Christian community beyond the Church of England.
