If your child attends St Michael’s Church of England High School, you will need to apply to Sandwell Council.

Eligibility
In order to be eligible to receive/claim free school meals, you must be receiving one of the following:
- Income Support
- Universal Credit – To qualify, if you are in receipt of Universal Credit, your net earned income (after taxes and deductions ‘take home pay’) must be below £616 per month under the Universal Credit allowance you receive. This will be confirmed on your latest online Universal Credit statement when you receive it. If your net earned income shows above the £616 figure, you do not qualify.
- Employment and Support Allowance (income-related)
- Guaranteed Pension Credit (including Child Tax Credit)
- Income-based Job Seekers Allowance
- Support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
Free Meals
For those students entitled to Free School Meals, their ParentPay account will be loaded daily with the amount of a meal deal – currently, this is £2.59. This amount can only be used to purchase food at lunchtime. If you want your child to have snacks at break time, please load money onto your ParentPay account.
